Nicholas brings nearly 20 years of experience in political campaigns, advocacy consulting, and public affairs. He specializes in strategic planning, coalition-building, and policy advocacy, with a focus on climate tech, clean energy, and decarbonization.

Since 2020, Nicholas has served as State Director and, previously, Senior Strategist for the Clean Power PA Coalition. In these roles, he has overseen strategic planning, grants management, political strategy, and coalition durability, working to advance key policies and initiatives, including the implementation of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).

Before founding Viewpoint Public Affairs (formerly Twenty20 Strategies), Nicholas held senior positions at prominent organizations. As Senior Strategist and Federal Relations Manager at Lockridge Grindal Nauen, LLP, he guided advocacy efforts and policy initiatives. At Brass Tactics, he served as Senior Project Manager, leading grassroots engagement and earned media campaigns. Earlier in his career, Nicholas was State Outreach Director for the Common Purpose Project, collaborating with the White House Office of Public Engagement to build stakeholder support for President Obama’s legislative priorities.

Nicholas’s passion for political strategy was ignited during Senator Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, where he served in management roles during both the primary and general elections. Over his campaign career, he has managed federal, state, municipal, and local election campaigns, honing his expertise in electoral strategy and stakeholder engagement.

A Seattle native, Nicholas “married into” Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where he now lives with his wife and three sons. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Washington and a Master’s in Campaign Management from The George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management. When he’s not working, Nicholas enjoys coaching youth baseball and basketball and volunteers with Attollo Prep, a local leadership and college readiness program.
